Thanks for visiting the Columbus Ursine Brotherhood (CUB) web site. We know that protecting your privacy is important. Our privacy statement explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your information. It's for CUB members, participants in Bear Camp and visitors of columbusbears.org, columbusbears.com, columbusbears.biz, columbusbears.net and columbusbears.info. So just how do we protect your privacy? In a nutshell, we promise to treat your personal information responsibly and provide you with choices. It's as simple as that. Here's how.
Collecting, using, and sharing visitor information
Many of our online activities don't require you to register or give us any personal information. For example, you can view our events calendar or get information about Bear Camp without giving us any personal information, such as a name or address. We use Web tools to track how visitors use our Web site so we can improve your experience. CUB and our business partners use cookies and other tools to track visitor's IP addresses, domain names, and browser information. These tools don't collect a your personal information.
When you visit our web site, we may send cookies – a small file containing a string of characters – to your computer. Cookies uniquely identify your Web browser to us. We use cookies to track visitors as they use our Web site. Collecting and using your personal information
We require you to share your personal information with us for some of our online activities. For example, we collect your personal information so you can register for Bear Camp or become a member of CUB.

You may choose to use your personal e-mail to correspond with CUB. Please be careful about the information you send to us in e-mail. As with any public Web tool, your e-mail may not be secure.

- Fill out an e-mail form to ask a question
- Apply for or renew your membership in CUB
- Register to attend Bear Camp
- Complete a web form
- Send us an e-mail
- Subscribe to receive e-mail from us
Sharing your personal information
We don't sell your personal information.
We share your personal information for everyday business purposes. Some examples include mailing of the CUB newsletter or processing transactions that you request such as renewing your membership. You cannot opt out of these.
Sharing your personal information for marketing
We do not share your personal information for marketing purposes with any organization outside of CUB.
We may share your personal information with other parties within CUB. For example, we may share member's information with the Bear Camp Committee for the purpose of promoting Bear Camp. Similarly, the Bear Camp Committee may share information about current and past registrants for Bear Camp with the CUB executive board. If you would like to find out more about opting out, please read the next section.
Opt out
If you are a CUB member, you can request we don't send you periodic e-mail from the CUB executive board. To do so, send a request to privacy@columbusbears.org. Be sure to include your name, e-mail address and a statement that you don't wish to receive e-mail communication to the general membership from the board.
If you are a current or past guest at Bear Camp, you can request not to receive further information about Bear Camp. To do so, send a request to privacy@columbusbears.org. Be sure to include your name, e-mail address and a statement that you don't wish to further e-mail communication about Bear Camp.
Confidentiality and security
We use physical and technical safeguards to protect your personal information. We limit access to your personal information to those who need it to do their jobs. The law requires our business partners to use your personal information only for our purposes. They may not share it or use it in any other way.

CUB has links to other Web sites on our Web pages. We are not responsible for how they collect, use, disclose, or secure the personal information that you provide to them. Please read their privacy policy so you can learn how the new Web site uses your personal information.

Columbus Ursine Brotherhood
C.U.B. (the Columbus Ursine Brotherhood) is a group of fun-loving Bears in Columbus, Ohio USA. We strive to build a positive image of the Bear community in Ohio, nationally and worldwide. We also enable Bears to meet other Bears and Bear admirers in an environment that does not center on the bar scene.
Bear Camp
Bear Camp is our annual Bear weekend in Columbus Ohio. The Bear Camp committee is comprised of members of CUB who answer to but are independent of the CUB Executive Board.
